Here’s a little bit about each of our sambal sisters:
Anchovy Sambal: This chilli sauce is made with crispy fried anchovies and belacan for a rich and addictive umami flavour. We would recommend having this with your Nasi Lemak as the lower spice level means you can pour it all over your rice! MILD-HOT
Sambal: A spicy Malaysian chilli sauce packed full of heat and layered with flavour. Sambal can be found all over Malaysia and every home and restaurant will have their own version. Ours has a depth of flavour that means it’s great on it’s own but can also be used for wide variety of recipes – including spag bol! HOT
Sambal Belacan: A very hot chilli sauce with deep umami notes from fermented shrimp paste. VERY HOT
