Is your food spicy?
Just like in Malaysia, we offer a range to suit all spice tolerances – check the individual item descriptions to find one to suit you! You can filter out shop page by spice level :)
How long do products keep once opened, and what's the shelf life unopened?
Our jars have a shelf life of up to 1.5 years unopened.
We recommend once opened, to keep your products in the fridge for up to 4 weeks - just don't double dip!
Our sauces can also be frozen for up to 3 months - why not freeze some sambal in an ice cube tray for easy, accessible heat?
How should I store the sauces (fridge or cupboard)?
Our sauces can be kept ambient (out of direct sunlight) until you open them, then pop them in the fridge for safe keeping (if you don't finish the jar all at once!)
How should I use the product?
Each of our jars have their ownn serving size and serving suggestions.

Where are your products manufactured?
Our products are manufactured in the UK. We carefully select our manufacturing partners to ensure our products are high quality and don't compromise on flavour.
Returns & refunds
What's your returns and refund policy?
We want you to love what you order! If something's not right, get in touch with us at hello@makanmalaysia.co.uk within 2 days of receiving your order and we'll sort a refund or replacement. Unopened, unused items in their original packaging can be returned within for a full refund (excluding return postage costs).
What do I do if I'm not happy with a product?
We're a small team and we take it personally when something's not right. Just email us at hello@makanmalaysia.co.uk with your order number and a bit about what happened, and we'll make it right, whether that's a replacement, a refund, or just a chat about what went wrong.
Ordering & Delivery
When will I get my order?
We will work quickly to ship your order as soon as possible. We ship via Royal Mail 48 hour tracked service, please check you email for updates.
Delivery times are around 3-5 business days after you place your order.
Do you ship internationally?
Not yet... but watch this space! For now we ship anywhere in the UK.
Do you offer local pickup or same-day delivery?
Nope! We work with a fulfillment centre and have processes in place for delivery. You can check out local shops like Pophams, Raya and Panzers for our stock though!

Do you cater for allergies?
Allergens are included in the product descriptions.
If you have any concerns, please let us know what allergies you have and we’ll tell you which products are suitable for you.
What is your minimum order size for catering events?
For us to cater in person, our minimum order is £3,000. Get in touch via our enquiry form and we can talk through what works for your event.
We do offer a 'catering in the post' option, with a lower minimum order of £850.
What areas do you cover for event catering?
Anywhere and everywhere! Travel & accomodation required for more further afield events.

Wholesale
How do I become a wholesale stockist?
We'd love to work with you! You can order directly through our supply chain partner Depodone, register for a wholesale account, and you'll get access to trade pricing straight away. We're also available through Mahalo, Artisan Food Club and Faire if you'd rather order through one of those platforms.
