Vegan Nasi Lemak For 2

Malaysia’s national dish and if you’ve tried it, you’ll know why! We’ve swapped out ikan bilis and peanuts for a full packet of mushroom serunding to make this vegan nasi lemak.

Traditionally this dish is served wrapped up in a banana leaf .. So we’ve included a banana leaf in this bundle too – whether you try and wrap it up or use it as a plate (easier option) is completely up to you!

You can pick any of our sambals to go with your Nasi Lemak, choose either:

The Sambal (vegan, 7/10 spiciness)  our spicy original, mix a little into the rice and save the rest of the jar for more fun meal times!

Sambal Nasi Lemak (contains fish, 4/10 spiciness) this one is great for pouring all over your Nasi Lemak

Sambal Belacan (contains fish, 9/10 spiciness) our spicy one, you won’t need to add much of this to your plate!

 

And if you want to complete your Nasi Lemak in true Malaysian style, you can add on a special Malaysian Kopi (coffee)! We’ll send 2 portions of Old Town White Coffee 3-in-1 mix, just add hot water! (sorry no vegan option for this yet!)

Each vegan nasi lemak for 2 kit includes:

– Coconut rice for 2

– Oyster mushroom serunding

– Banana leaves x 2

– 125mL jar of sambal

 

Serving suggestion: goes great with jackfruit and shiitake rendang!

 

All our chilled food is delivered ready to heat! Store in the fridge until best before date or keep in the freezer for up to 3 months and defrost in the fridge overnight before heating

Banana leaf

Mushroom serunding: oyster mushroom, coconut milk, shallots, sugar, sunflower oil, coriander, fennel, lemongrass, tamarind, galangal, ginger, garlic, chilli, desiccated coconut

The Sambal: chilli, shallots, ginger, garlic, galangal, tamarind, sugar, salt, sunflower oil

Coconut rice

MICROWAVE: Empty contents into a microwavable bowl and cover with lid/plate. Microwave on high heat for 3 minutes then remove the lid, fluff rice with a fork and return to microwave for a further 1 minute

Keep in fridge or can be frozen for up to 3 months from best before date

Ensure rice is piping hot all the way through before eating!

 *DO NOT boil or cook the food in it’s bag. We use home compostable, plastic-free bags made of natural ingredients that will disintegrate!

Delivery

Orders will be delivered on alternate Thursdays – please check our delivery calendar for available dates at checkout page. Orders need to be placed by the Sunday before delivery date.

You need to place your order by Sunday night to receive it the following week.

Orders are then cooked and sent out from our kitchen on Wednesday via Parcel Force next day delivery and will be with you on Thursday, barring any unforeseen delays. We send chilled food out in specially insulated boxes that will keep food cool for up to 48 hours.
