Kari Kapitan = Captain’s Curry
Legend has it that Kari Kapitan was created when a British ship was docked in Malaysia and the captain’s cook, taking influence from a local curry (but with slightly less chilli) presented the curry to the captain who asked what it was, to which he replied ‘curry, captain’ and so we have Kari Kapitan!
Our Ayam Kapitan is made with chicken thigh pieces, potato and green beans in a zesty lime and coconut curry. Eat with fresh steamed rice and add a squeeze of lime for that extra mmmm!
