We use Halal chicken, but our kitchen and other meat dishes are not Halal
We offer a range of dishes to suit all spice tolerances – check the individual food descriptions to find one to suit you! You can filter out shop page by spice level, just click which chilli level you are on our filter on the left hand side
Yes we do! Please let us know what allergies you have and we’ll tell you which products are suitable for you. Allergens are also included in the product descriptions
All our chilled food is individually labelled with best before dates and can be kept in the fridge until then – usually between 3-7 days. If you are freezing your items, please put in the freezer straight away where they can be kept for up to 3 months from the best before date.
Our Sambal jars last between 3months – 1 year and are also labelled with best before dates. You can keep them unopened in a cupboard until the best before date but please put in the fridge once opened
If you need your food to last until a specific date please let us know 🙂

Yes we do – anything from single dishes to specially curated menus! There is a minimum order requirement – get in touch and let us know what you have in mind and we’ll get the ball rolling!
All orders are sent out the next Wednesday via 24hr courier service for delivery on Thursday.
Orders must be placed by Sunday midnight for delivery the following week
All over the UK!! Anywhere in the UK that Parcel Force goes, we go – this includes England, Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland
Packages to Scotish Highlands may take an additional day depending on weather etc, but your food will remain safe and chilled in our special boxes 🙂
At the moment our kitchen isn’t set up for collections. We do have a collection point at Fidget & Bob (Reading) every Thursday, just place your order as usual and select the collect option at checkout.
Our dishes are vacuum sealed for freshness in completely plastic-free, home compostable bags. These are then packed chilled in 100% curb-side recyclable insulation and boxes with reusable ice packs. The food is delivered chilled at fridge temperature, not frozen
Sambals and sauces are stored in glass jars
Delays with our courier are rare but may happen and are unfortunately out of our control. The chilled food in your order box will stay at a safe temperature for 48 hours from dispatch, so as long as you receive it by Friday and put it straight in the fridge/freezer it will be perfectly fine to consume. If your delivery is delayed by more than 48 hours, please throw away any chilled food and let us know, we will resend out your order the following week.
Once your order has been dispatched, the best way to get information about it’s progress is by contacting Parcel Force directly – we sadly don’t have any special inside information
If you’re new to Malaysian food and a little overwhelmed with all the dishes – we understand! We have created a few bundles to help you get started – the ‘Dinner for 2’ bundles is perfect for a small introduction to the world of Makan and comes with 2 of our favourite curries, rice and fritters. There is also the Makan Besar bundle for a wider range of our best selling curries
